He Calls it Revenge

So when can we Youtube the divorce?

Chuao Chocolate Cafe is a Must for Chocolate Lovers!

I love discovering new places. Cypress, Gloria and I were headed to Anaheim for my birthday when we decided to make a Starbucks stop. As I walked in to my dismay, they had a dismal display of pastries. Ugh, I hate when there’s no lemon loaf. So, after walking out disappointed we wondered into Chuao Chocolate Cafe.

Things happen for a reason.

Chuao Chocolate Cafe, located in La Jolla’s UTC shopping center, is filled with delicious chocolate treats and the people that work there are affable and knowledgeable.

A woman named Summer approached us and answered all our questions about their gourmet chocolates and pastries with NO SALES PRESSURE. I love that. I’ve noticed people tend not to go into high end places because of the pressure they feel to buy to prove their right to be in the store. This store felt very welcoming.

Summer actually spent time with us and even explained about events CCC holds. They have a chocolate tasting event, which is 10 dollars a person, also if you attend this event you get a discount on your purchases for the day. Gloria, Cypress and I all agreed that it’s an event we’re going to look out for. She told us it’s held once a month and to call for any date changes.

The only thing that’s difficult about the store is trying to set a spending limit for yourself. I wanted to buy and taste EVERYTHING! They’re chocolate is so smooth and delicious.

Gloria and I ended up buying some brownies. We both agreed that we’ve never tasted a more delicious brownie. It had cinnamon and chili powder. It gave a slight warmth through out your mouth, it was chocolate-y but not so sweet that you couldn’t appreciate the coco.

Gloria also bought a chocolate bar and we discussed how yes, it cost more than the dollar chocolate bars at the grocery store, but the quality really was different because you don’t just taste sugar. This chocolate bar had depth. We’re rather have one of these a week than 8 a week of the dollar bars of chocolate.

This cafe doesn’t only sell chocolate, cypress got a delicious dulce de leche pastry and they sell gelato!

We loved our visit there and now we’re planning to treat ourselves there…often :D

Oh and a little birdy told me that a Food network show stopped by to tape there so keep your eyes open, we’re not surprised, Chuao is destined for big things.

Tag! You’re it

Cypress and I are really happy! A week or two ago, we had an amazing hang out session with our dear friend Gloria and her amazing genius of a sister Amy who was only 11, but brilliant.

Anyway, we had all decided to go laser tagging, but due to Cypress’s computer freak out we thought we lost all the pictures, however when I was looking through our photo account I noticed I actually uploaded the pics! YESSSSSSS! I love when fantastic discoveries happen.

but yeah…back on the subject of laser tagging…can I just tell you we were seriously disadvantaged! We were a team of 5 and the other two teams had like 8 or 10. Cheats! They were kicking our butts and ambushing us everywhere. Honestly, even the staff noticed because they were telling the other teams to stop ganging up on us which was uber uncool, but that was before I found put we had such a small team.

The star of the team was this guy named Daus….(Dos?) I’m not sure how to spell it, but he earned half our our entire point total! Btw…I knew Dos was gonna be cool because we both laughed when Gloria said, “I don’t know how to turn myself on.” hahaha…she was referring to her gear, not herself. Also, he asked if we were going in again, which was nice of him since he was stuck with a team of all girls who were bad shots (oh and some girls are really awesome at this game, we just happened not to be those girls.)

After the game was over, we left for Pokez and out to the mall to rat out and chill. The pictures of the day are below.

Discussing our sad sad sad scores.

The place! it was only 7 bucks a person per game, and if you’re up for it 15 dollars for 2 hours (I think) late night on Friday. Good luck with that…15 mins. took a lot out of us hha.

A Crazy Documentary on “Crazy Love”

Whoa! Add this to your netflix.

“Crazy Love” is a well made documentary of a disturbing relationship between an obsessive lawyer and the object of his affection. The viewers will be stunned as Burt, Linda and their friends talk about an unconventional relationship of delusional romance.

Seriously, forget Sid and Nancy, Burt Pugach and Linda Riss take the cake when it comes to dysfunctional love.

I don’t want to spoil it for those who don’t know the background of this unconventional couple, but I definitely think this outrageous documentary is a must see. The events are so unfathomable you’d think it’d only happen in the soaps.

Somebody’s Watching Me

The mall is starting to bum me out because people keep bloody profiling me!

Honestly, it might paranoia…but I feel like when I’m out shopping, sometimes there are people watching me!

For example, today my friends and I decided to go to Planet Funk. I love their accessories…I’ve gotten some really fantastic hats from there, and usually their service is amazing…with the exception of today.

Here’s what happened…and by the way…this is all something I just picked up on…a vibe or a feeling if you will…nothing is concrete.

I was in Plant Funk and I found an awesome gray scarf. So cute! I was trying it on…carrying it around…and then a women approaches me and asks if she wants me to put it behind the counter…at first, I think nothing of it. I was carrying it around because I couldn’t find the price tag, and I asked her to help me find it. She did. Next, I noticed her hovering closely near me. Every time I moved from a different side of the sales rack she’d move too. I felt uncomfortable. I think she was watching me to see if I was going to shoplift.

I mean…now that I think of it…why would she ask if I wanted to place the scarf behind the counter?…It’s not NOT heavy. Other people were carrying way more items…why didn’t she approach them?

I can’t help but think it was because I wasn’t dressed as nice as the others…or maybe it was my race?

GRRR…I hate that we have to look the part to shop in certain places. Maybe if I was carrying some over-sized over-priced bag and matching heels she wouldn’t have felt the need to follow me, but no…I was dressed for comfort that day. Dressed to be stereotyped…I guess.

I asked my friend, while we were in the store, if she was noticed the special attention the sales person was giving us…she said yes. We left, but I wish I said something. No, I wouldn’t have jumped on the counter and screamed at her, but I wish I looked her straight in the eye and asked, “Are you profiling me?” You know, create some damn awareness of the situation…if she said no, sure I may think LIAR! but at least the words and thought would be out there. Maybe if I had said something she’d interact better with her customers next time and I’d feel a little more empowered and less paranoid.

::Sigh::

Oh, the world we live in.

To the Planet Funk chick who seems to have it all wrong I dedicate this song to you:

Bags Bags Bags…When it’s Hot Online Shop

It’s sooo damn hot! Cypress and I can’t take the heat…it’s unbearable. We went home for the long weekend and have done absolutely nothing; it’s too hot to want to do anything.

At times like these there’s only one logical thing to do. Enjoy the air-conditioning at my parents house and online shop hha. Seriously, when you want something to do, turn to the internet.

I started out watching stuff on youtube, but I felt like I was caught up on all my subscriptions so then I decided to check out my online shopping haunts. What was I looking for? Bags…definitely not clothes…I stuffed myself with 4th of July deliciousness which meant I felt horribly deformed.

I found some really cute bags though. The theme being very Ivy league Oxfordian Indian Jones! It’s very Cypress (my sister/KN writer) Hah hopefully I can get her to buy one and I’ll just borrow them from here :D!

Hmmm…Shall we going in order of price? Yeah, we’ll go from least to wallet hemorrhaging…

ON CALL CANVAS DOCTOR BAG

I actually think Cypress bought this bag (YESSS! :D) It’s such a good deal too because it’s on sale for under 30 bucks! It has leather detailing and is exclusive to Urban Outfitters…they always have cute, (over priced) stuff. I really only buy from them when they have a sale or if it’s an item I’ve been obsessing over. If you wanna be twinsies and buy the bag too CLICK HERE…there are more detailed pictures too.

IVY LEAGUE WEEKENDER

PICNIC bag! I really like the plaid with the vinyl trim. The trim actually looks like it’s going to look even better as it ages( like George Clooney)…or if the vinyl scratches and gets beat up a little it’s just gong to add some vintage character (not so good for Clooney). The Bag is 66 bucks, but if you buy it from Fred Flare, before Monday the shipping is free. Clickity click click HERE to see more of the weekender.

FILSON MEDIUM FIELD BAG

Ok, get some band aids for your wallet because this ones gonna leave some marks. Filson’s Medium Field bag has an amazing and clean look to it. It’s made for action and it can hold quite a bit. It’s the same price as most Fossil bags with the same look, but I love the feel and look of this bag more then their messengers. If you’ve got 200 bucks laying around you must be riding a bike, because most people are feeding their cars with their moolah. I’m sure this bag looks great while bike riding hahaha. CLICK HURR for the Filson bag.

WAH! I really want to buy ALL of them…hmmm…I’LL BUY THEM ALL!

(Man…this heat is really making me delusional.)

“I Met the Walrus”: Another Reason to Love John Lennon

I’ve run into something inspiring.

“I Met the Walrus” is an amazing video of an interview done by Jerry Levitan, a Beatles’ fan that snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room and persuaded him to do an interview about peace.

The video is animated and brings Lennon’s words to life with clever imagery enhancing his word play.

John Lennon’s message was simple and still relevant today; Don’t be square and do your part-work for peace.

Scars On Broadway Release New Music Video

Is that new System of a Down?

Nope, in the words of Daron Malakian, System’s guitarist/vocalist, they’re “gonna do like KISS and put out [their] own solo records.” He’s also referring to Serj, SOAD’s lead singer putting out his own solo in 2007 called, Elect the Dead.

Malakian’s band, Scars on Broadway, has released a new video for their single “They Say”.

Their record is out July 29th and they’ve released the following as track listing:

1. Serious
2. Funny
3. Exploding/Reloading
4. Stoner-Hate
5. Insane
6. World Long Gone
7. Kill Each Other/Live Forever
8. Babylon
9. Chemicals
10. Enemy
11. Universe
12. 3005
13. Cute Machines
14. Whoring Streets
15. They Say

To see the music video for “They Say” CLICK HERE

The video isn’t anything visually stunning, but the song is good enough to appease System fans.

Oh, and don’t worry…according to THIS, System of a Down isn’t breaking up.
